Work: Painting of the Last Supper, North Choir Aisle 

Jacques or James Parmentier was born in France in 1658 and studied art under his uncle, Sébastien Bourdon.  Around September 1676 Parmentier came to England where he worked at Montague House and came to the attention of William III, who appointed him to work at the royal palace at Het Loo. 

In 1711 he accepted a commission to paint an altarpiece depicting the Last Supper for Holy Trinity Church, for which he received £50 (£7,330, today). The painting originally hung in the centre of the east wall above the Rococo Communion Table but now hangs on the North Choir Aisle wall.
